Many people have long term chronic conditions, such as diabetes and arthritis. In order for a person who suffers from a long term chronic condition to maintain their health, they have to see their doctor on a regular basis. The doctor will examine the patient and take blood and urine tests to make sure that the prescriptions that the patient is taking is not affecting him or her in a negative way. The idea of prescription medication is to keep the condition leveled.
When going to the doctor, make sure that you bring all of your current medicines with you, including any over-the-counter medicines. That way the doctor can see if you have been taking them properly. Also, the doctor can show you which prescriptions to stop taking, if it is not needed anymore. Show the doctor which medicines are giving you problems. You may want to place the medicine in a different bag, so that you will know which one is giving you problems.
By keeping your doctor's appointments, your doctor can make sure that all of your prescriptions are up to date. Pharmacists won't refill your prescriptions, if the doctor hasn't been seen in a long time. It is important that you always have your medication because you can have a setback. The last thing that you want is to be in the hospital for not taking your medication. Even if you don't have the money to see your doctor, your doctor may bill you, so that you can be examined.
