WORSBROUGH FAMILY HEALTH PROJECT Worsbrough, Worsbrough Common, Worsbrough Bridge

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Worsbrough Family Health Project aims to improve the health and social and educational opportunities of children growing up in the Worsbrough area. The project is being delivered by Home-Start Barnsley.

PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES

Home Start
The project will provide training opportunities for local people to become Home-Start volunteers. The role of the Home-Start volunteer is to go into the homes of 'families' under stress and offer them support, information and advice. Some of the parents who have received support from Home-Start become trained Home-Start visitors. The training has assisted people to obtain paid employment. The project also delivers a number of local drop-ins where families can meet other people with similar experiences along with meeting local service providers. Home-Start believes that all children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play the key role in giving their children a good start in life and helping them achieve their full potential.
