HEALTHY LIVING ADVOCATE INITIATIVE Lundwood and Monk Bretton

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Healthy Living Advocate project aims to recruit, train and develop a team of Healthy Living Advocates and promote opportunities for healthy living and active lifestyles within the Lundwood and Monk Bretton partnership areas.

We also aim to provide work based learning for Young People in Health, Sport, Youth and Community Involvement activities and increase training and learning opportunities in vocational health related qualifications as a means to access employment in the Health, Youth and Leisure sectors. The Health Advocates are employed by Priory Campus and opportunities are explored to secure advocates with placement opportunities with other organisations. The Health Advocates also gain experience from delivering physical activity sessions throughout the Lundwood and Monk Bretton area.

The intended outcome for the project are based around:
Y Recruitment of local Health Advocates
Y Increasing knowledge and skills of Health Advocates
Y Improving employment prospects of Health Advocates
Y Increasing capacity of physical activity coaches
Y Increasing the number of physical activity sessions delivered
Y Increasing local people participation in physical activity
